Curationist LogoCurationist Object Description
A claim sheet from the Los Angeles Local 767 Music Union. It’s made out against Duke Ellington’s Jump for Joy, Inc., filed by musicians who performed at the Los Angeles Mayan Theater in July 1941. Opened by the American Federation of Musicians, the Local 767 operated for Black musicians who were often denied access to white Hollywood jazz clubs.
