About the Work

"Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum" Object Description
Seascape sketch showing a view of a distant iceberg at sunset off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Visible on the horizon at center across an expanse of dark bluish-brown ocean water, a roughly pyramidal iceberg is colored pink by the light of the setting sun, which also casts the clouds above in rich tones of orange-pink. A strip of yellow-green sky is visible over the clouds along the upper margin. One low-lying, pink cloud can be distinguished just above the iceberg itself.
