About the Work

"Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum" Object Description
Seascape sketch showing a loosely rendered view of a craggy, blue iceberg at midnight off the coast of Labrador, Canada. Situated nearby, the iceberg's shape is characterized by an immense pyramidal form at right that descends to a lower, flat segment with rugged, hefty spires at center and left. The berg floats on dark gray water while the twilight of the midnight sun renders the sky a striking gradient from blue-green, above, to fiery red-orange along the horizon.
