Brooklyn Museum Object Description
Large, round metate or stool with sixteen carved jaguar heads around the rim and an openwork pedestal base that flares out at the bottom. The jaguar heads are finely carved with upright ears, almond eyes, and snarling mouths. The plate is smooth. Condition: good; a small section of the plate was broken and repaired.
