The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum, located in New York City, opened in 1870. Its major collections include: arms and armor, the arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, ancient West Asian art, Asian art, costume, drawings and prints, European sculpture and decorative arts, Greek and Roman art, Islamic art, medieval art, modern and contemporary art, musical instruments, photographs, and the Robert Lehman Collection. It also has one of the largest ancient Egyptian collections outside of Cairo. Curationist shares more than 250,000 objects from the Met.
