About the Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum
Established as The Auckland Museum in 1852, New Zealand’s Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum has major Māori and Pacific collections, significant natural history resources, major social and military history collections, and decorative arts and pictorial collections. It also houses one of New Zealand's most important heritage libraries. Curationist connects you to over 106,000 objects from this collection.
The museum recognizes Māori as tangata whenua, or “people of the land”, and all other cultures and communities that call Aotearoa New Zealand home.
