About the work

curationist logo

Benjamin Joseph Falk photographed many American performers including Loïe Fuller. Fuller was an American dancer and actress. She invented dances and patented her costumes and techniques. To exert further control on the reproduction of her images and dances, she preferred to pose for photographs. As a result, there is little documentation of her performing her own dances.
