The source material for this GIF is a computer-programmed artwork from 1968, created by Marko Pogačnik, a neo-avant garde artist from Slovenia. The animation builds on the theme of coding by transforming the block from the artwork into tiles from Tetris, a classic video game from 1984. The GIF animation shows the pieces moving as if playing a Tetris game. The game pieces scroll down from the top of the frame, falling into place to complete the rows of numbers on the sheet of paper.
