Decorative hair pin made of plastic and rhinestones.

This hair pin is from the collection of the Anacostia Community Museum. Founded as the Anacostia Neighborhood Museum and opened in 1967, the Anacostia Community Museum was envisioned as an outreach effort by the Smithsonian to the local African American community. The Museum’s collection documents urban communities and the lives of urban residents, from home life and everyday activities to the community-building efforts of artists, activists and others. – Smithsonian Institution
